Explore Tanzania's legendary northern safari circuit — from the sweeping plains of the Serengeti to the ancient calderas of Ngorongoro — with personally curated packages designed for every travel style and budget. Whether you're planning a budget Tanzania safari or a luxury fly-in experience, every itinerary is crafted around you, through my trusted local partner Aglow Safaris — a fully licensed, eco-conscious operator I've explored Tanzania with personally.
Tanzania is home to the world's greatest wildlife spectacle — the Great Migration — where over 1.5 million wildebeast cross the Serengeti plains in a thunderous annual journey that has no equal on Earth. It is also home to Africa's highest wildlife density, the Ngorongoro Crater (the world's largest intact volcanic caldera), and ancient ecosystems that have remained unchanged for millennia.
Here, you can witness:
Dramatic Mara River crossings during peak migration season (July–October)
Newborn calves taking their first steps on the Ndutu plains (January–March)
Black rhino sightings inside the Ngorongoro Crater — one of the rarest wildlife encounters in Africa
Lion prides, cheetahs, and leopards moving through acacia woodland in Tarangire
Authentic Maasai cultural experiences woven into your safari itinerary

This is not just a holiday. It is the Africa that stays with you forever. Experience it now.

Tanzania's wilderness is not only defined by its wildlife — it is shaped by the people who have lived within it for thousands of years. A visit to the Hadzabe and Datoga tribes offers a rare and genuinely humbling window into ways of life that have remained largely unchanged for millennia.

Hadzabe Tribe — One of the last remaining hunter-gatherer communities on Earth, the Hadzabe live around the shores of Lake Eyasi in northern Tanzania. Join them on a morning hunt using traditional bows and arrows, gather wild berries, and share a fire. This is not a performance — it is their daily life, and they welcome curious, respectful visitors into it.
Datoga Tribe — Agropastoral neighbors of the Hadzabe, the Datoga are master craftspeople known for their intricate brass jewelry and blacksmithing. Visit their homestead, watch artisans work, and learn about a culture that has coexisted with Tanzania's landscape for generations.
Both experiences are conducted with full respect for community boundaries and consent, and visits directly support the livelihoods of participating families. Ask about adding a Lake Eyasi cultural day to your itinerary when you submit your enquiry.

No Tanzania adventure is complete without looking up at Kilimanjaro. At 5,895 metres, it is the highest mountain in Africa and one of the world's most accessible high-altitude treks — no technical climbing experience required. What it does require is preparation, the right route, and guides you can trust completely.
Lemosho Route (7 days) — The most scenic and remote trail on the mountain. Gradual acclimatisation, stunning biodiversity, and one of the highest summit success rates available. Traverses rainforest, moorland, the Shira Plateau, and the iconic Barranco Wall before the midnight summit push to Uhuru Peak.
Shorter Routes (6 days and under) — Faster itineraries available for experienced trekkers or those with limited time. Route selection depends on your fitness level, acclimatisation history, and timeline — all assessed personally before your trek is confirmed.

Val's chopper ride to the peak
All Kilimanjaro treks are coordinated through a fully licensed operator with certified mountain guides, assistant guides, porters, and a cook. Inclusions cover all park and camping fees, meals on the mountain, quality tents, treated water, emergency evacuation services, and a pulse oximeter carried by your chief guide throughout.
Ask about adding a Kilimanjaro trek to your Tanzania safari itinerary when you submit your enquiry.
Most travelers don't realise how easily a Tanzania wildlife safari pairs with a Zanzibar island escape. A short flight from the northern circuit drops you straight onto white-sand beaches, coral reefs, and the spice-scented streets of Stone Town. Same trip, completely different world.
